Why Makeup?
After graduating cosmetology school in 2015, I wasn't sure where my license would take me, but I always knew I wanted to help people feel beautiful. We’re taught from a young age that beauty has a certain look or ever changing standard to meet. I want makeup to be seen as a tool women can use to enhance their own unique beauty! My favorite part of the job is helping my clients see their best features. Bringing to life the most confident version of themselves! My job is something so beautiful, showing you the features some have never liked in a brand new light!
Now, as a makeup artist, every day is an opportunity to create those moments of confidence, joy, and beauty for my clients. Whether it’s a simple makeup look to brighten their day or getting them ready for an unforgettable event, I’m here to help them feel amazing and celebrate their unique beauty.

I kid you not, I've worn my signature winged eyeliner and lashes since I was 15! I still vividly remember waking up early in high school, sitting on my bedroom floor with my liquid liner, brow pomade, and red lipstick because who could leave without red lipstick?

Since then I have traded in my brow pomade for brow gel and a red lipstick for a lip oil. My style over the years has really fell into what I preach of enhancing myself like I do my clients. Although a liquid eyeliner will never leave my island essentials list!
"An elevated soft glam", My style is creating the best version of yourself. To have my clients look in the mirror and say "Wow that's me!" and smile.
I don't believe good makeup is heavy makeup and I don't believe no makeup is the best makeup. Makeup is something we can come together and custom fit to your personality! Just as I'm ever changing as a person, so is my makeup style. It's something I hope to contiune crafting into what makes each individual client feel beautiful.
How'd You Get Started?
I’ll never forget a moment from my childhood bedroom, with one of my closest friends from beauty school as we prepped for my first real clients! We were charging only $20 for hair and makeup (can you believe that), but it wasn’t about the money. It was about making everyone feel like the best version of themselves for that special night. The excitement, the laughter, and the joy of getting everyone ready for the best night ever!

That experience lit something in me! A passion for making others feel beautiful and confident. It wasn’t just about applying makeup or doing hair; it was about connecting with people, helping them feel good in their own skin, and being a part of their special moments. Little did I know, that afternoon in my childhood bedroom was the start of the journey that would lead me to where I am today – and I’m so thankful for it.
I cannot, and I mean CANNOT recommend Mekinzie enough. I did a few bridal trials with other makeup artists and I knew the moment I met Mekinzie that she was who I would book with before I even saw the final result. She was so kind and friendly and she really knows her way with a makeup brush. I felt amazing all day and night. My trial was great but my day of makeup truly was a work of art, not just for me, but for my entire bridal party. People could not stop complimenting us and even through the 90 degree Colorado sun, that makeup stayed FLAWLESS all day and night! I am so grateful that I chose Makeup By Mekinzie for my makeup team.
